Faces of Poker

Paul and the three oldest boys played poker tonight. The boys have been on a kick, using their own little homemade version of cards and chips, lugging their wares everywhere they go.

Tonight they sat around the table with Daddy and really played. It was quite a sight.

At one point, I heard Charlie heave a sigh of frustration.

"I'm bleeding chips," he lamented.

At the end of the evening, Elliott was the big winner.

"The pressure was killing me," he said.

Before the boys headed up to bed they asked if I'd get them a poker table for Easter.

Nothing says "He Is Risen!" like a green-felt board and some casino chips, no?

I just realized I've been a silent stalker. Sorry! I adore your blog! I think it is just precious and makes me laugh. I love the blogs where I just *know* we'd be friends! :)

Yes, nothing says Easter like a poker table. I so wish you'd have posted pictures of this event! Sounds hilarious!

Happy rest of Lent and enjoy SAint Joseph's feast day on Friday!

Oh you have no idea what you just did for my husband. He doesn't play for money (usually just credit at the local pizza place) but you just gave him hope that he can rear our child in the ways of the "wise" :) Tell the boys that for Easter you are giving them a sibling! Hope you are feeling well in this last stretch. I felt the baby really moving around last night for the first time and nearly cried. It was soooo amazing!

Mine love poker, too. Must be a boy thing. how about some poker visors and a few cigars to go with that table?

Maybe they can use easter candy as chips. That would be the "Easter" version indeed.

When Fr. Rich asked our kids what they wanted for Easter, bob replied "roller blades". Just what everyone wants in their Easter basket. My kids have their own collection of poker chips - maybe we should have a tournament?
